A stronger take on Blanche's cleanliness: warm skin after a shower. Absolu is clearly aldehydic and musky. For people who want a skin scent with a point of view.
First impression
Black pepper in the opening is unexpectedly sharp. For a minute Absolu seems to break the Blanche skeleton. Then the aldehydes even it out: soapy clean, violet, white flowers.
On skin and on clothes
On skin it is a close scent, a radius of 30 to 40 cm. On cotton the musk and ambroxan last longer and lose the aldehydic shine. For staying power, a thin pass on a collar is enough. Extra sprays waste it.
Against Blanche (2010)
The original is sheerer, closer to clean laundry. Absolu is denser, the musk is clearer, and the floral heart is fuller. If Blanche is a white shirt, Absolu is a warm towel after a bath.
Decant8 verdict
Decant first. A full bottle is expensive, and the scent is specific. Close musk misses a lot of people. 2 to 5 ml covers 2 to 3 weeks of daily wear, which is enough to decide.
