Pineapple, citrus, and moss: a fresh chypre with a fruity opening. In Russia it is the main alternative to Creed Aventus, louder and easier to buy. The pineapple can read synthetic at the start. The base is clean.

Context

Hacivat is Nishane’s answer to Creed Aventus: pineapple, citrus, and moss. The name comes from a character in Turkish shadow theatre. It is a fresh chypre with a fruity top, moss and patchouli in the heart, and a woody base. The perfumer is Jorge Lee.

On skin

The opening is bright pineapple and grapefruit. The first 10 minutes can smell chemical. After 30 minutes moss and patchouli balance it into a clean fruit-and-wood profile. Longevity is outstanding, 9 to 10 hours and often longer, with strong projection. It works in heat and in cool weather. On clothes it lasts a full day.

Against Aventus

Hacivat is louder, longer-lasting, and cheaper: about €145 to €210 against €260 to €420 for Aventus. Aventus feels richer in materials, but batch drift and fakes turn the purchase into a lottery. Hacivat is steadier from batch to batch and easier to find as a real bottle. For most buyers in Russia it is the rational pick.

Verdict

One of the best fresh niche scents for the money in Russia. A bottle is reasonable after a decant. If you like fresh fruit niche and pineapple does not bother you, this is a strong everyday candidate.

Before a bottle

Ask for 2 to 10 ml. Wear it three times on your own skin. A blotter will not tell you what hour four smells like.
