Rose and strawberry into peach, then a sweet oud base with caramel and amber. The green bottle and the wooden sphere cap look quieter than the pyramid. The pyramid is a dessert with agarwood under it.
Context
Royal Platinum sells Royal Oud as a 100 ml eau de parfum. The bottle in the library photo is the green glass flacon with a wooden ball stopper, rose and vanilla pods in the frame, the words Royal Oud and Royal Platinum on the glass. The house lists rose and strawberry on top, peach with musk and vanilla in the heart, and oud, vanilla, benzoin, amber, caramel, and cedar in the base.
How it is built
That pyramid is a sweet oriental with a fruit opening, not a traditional oud. Strawberry and peach do the greeting. The agarwood is there to darken the caramel and the amber, the way a woody base keeps a gourmand from floating off. Cedar is the driest thing on the list, and it has to work hard against two vanillas and a caramel.
Verdict
Decant first. If you already wear sweet amber and want a little oud in the last three hours, a bottle can make sense once the wears agree. If you came for smoke and wood, this label will not give it to you.
