Three kinds of channel
Official boutique or brand site. The reference for authenticity. The highest price. Delivery into Belarus and Kazakhstan is uneven.
Authorized reseller. Often the better balance in Russia: selective chains and niche shops that print the batch code on the product card.
Parallel import (grey market). Cheaper. You do the checking: seller, box, batch, return policy.
The same three layers exist outside the CIS. The names change. The risk order does not.
Decants, originals, storage, concentration
Start with a decant from a seller who will name the bottle it was poured from. A full bottle from a grey listing is a larger bet. Match the concentration on the box to the listing: EDT, EDP, and extrait are often different formulas sold under one title. Ask how the stock is stored. Perfume that sat in a hot warehouse smells tired even when the cap and the batch code are real.
Checklist before you order
- Reviews covering 6 months or more, not only this week’s
- A photo of the bottle with the batch code, on request
- Return terms for a decant and for a sealed bottle
- A price check against EU retail. Far too cheap is a warning
